Spinning by Textile de la Thiérache
📍 Tourcoing, France
Textile de la Thierache, in partnership with UTT, were the key partner in the spinning process. Textile de la Thiérache and its sister companies are from a family business (7th generation in textile) based in the north of France. They are a yarns manufacturer (spinning and dyeing) for French and international knitters and weavers, used for different markets: clothing, furniture, and administrative markets. Their objective is to give reliable answers to the needs of clients (brands or manufacturers), always with a concern for proximity, reactivity and high standards.
Interview with Mikael Lemaire
What was your responsibility in this project?
Textile de la Thiérache was responsible for the spinning of the yarn.
What is your vision for circular textiles within Europe?
We believe that circular textiles will become increasingly prevalent in the coming years and will become the standard in the industry.
What would make these circular practices easier for you to adopt?
With the traceability of the product, the consumers will be able to see how and where the products were made.
What advice would you give to other entities that want to replicate the value circle?
Open and consistent communication across the entire supply chain is essential for mutual understanding.
What was your drive to be a part of this initiative?
Our investment in a spinning line for recycled fibers reflects our conviction that textile production needs a circular approach. We aim to demonstrate the feasibility of this transition.
Looking back, how did it go for you?
Regarding the project, I found it to be a very positive experience. I believe the final product will effectively demonstrate that we can utilize recycled materials to create high-quality items.
